Still Something About Him at 52

Mike Lindup, born London 1959 as Michael Lindup, is best known as keyboard player and vocalist (falsetto) of British Jazz Funk/Pop/Rock Band Level 42. Mike has also released solo work, the first album entitled Changes being released in 1990. From July 2000 he became part of  ‘Da Latta’ playing keyboard, percussion and of course providing backing vocals.

Mike was introduced to Mark King by Phil Gould in 1979 , developing Level 42 from an entirely instrumental act during which time they signed for the independent label, Elite, in 1980. They were encouraged to expand vocally with King and Lindup taking up the role and the rest as they say is history!

As a band Level 42 achieved global success as Jazz Funk meisters during the 1980s, inspiring a myriad of other bands along the way.

And they still perform to packed venues today!

There will be more about Level 42 in later blogs but in the meantime, all at 80slegends wish Mike a Very Happy 52nd Birthday.
