Out of all the great Films of the 1980′s, only three soundtracks made Number One in The U.K.

FAME (Sep 1980) Number One for 2 weeks

Dirty Dancing (Jan 1989) Number One for 2 weeks. Previously released in Oct 1987 when it reached Number four.

The Lost Boys (Jan 1989) Number One for 1 week

Two soundtracks reached Number two. They were:

Buster (Jan 1989) and Cocktail (Feb 1989)

I would have thought that Footloose would be somewhere near top of the charts too, as that has quite a few hits on it.

the Lost Boys soundtrack was pretty awesome to be fair – some quite left-field tracks, well worth a re-visit
