Goonies, was one of my favourite 80s films ever, i remember going to the pictures to see it when it came out, and loved every minute of it. Its full of fun and adventure and is a good family film, that I have never got tired of watching.

Loved A Nightmare on Elm Street as well, cos it was really scarey, and it had a very young Johnny Depp in it, first film role he'd ever played.

So many good films in the 80's and of course the age of The Video Nasty….The Evil Dead, a particular favourite..

The Indiana Jones Trilogy was and still is great.

American Werewolf in London was a cracking film…..did anyone catch The Thing that was on earlier this week, way ahead of it's time and still scarey after all these years.

I can remeber watching The Thing, and The Evil Dead, and numerous other horror movies back then. On a Monday night we all used to go round my friend jackies, boyfriends parents house, to watch video nastys, it was great, we all use to crowd into their lounge, sometimes there was as many as 18 teenagers. Texas chainsaw massacre, and The Howling. Maybe we should do a top 10 of our favourite 80s horror videos.1

Indeed, don't include The Texas Chainsaw Massacre as that was 1973 I think, although it only had it's ban lifted in the 80's. ,Great Film still makes me shudder and I've seen it at least ten times…

your right it was 1974. I still find the Hellraiser films creepy as well. Also remember getting into the pictures when i was 15 to see the film The Entity which was an 18, and that was really scarey cos it was apparently a true story. where abouts on here should i put my top 10 horror movies.
