I've been looking at the prices of some everydays things during the early 80s, i think you will all be surprised at how things have changed.

1981.

The Sun newspaper = 14p

Pint of bear = 50p

packet of cigerettes = 80p

Gallon of petrol = £1.32

Average house price = £24,188.00

Average weekly wage in England = £91.40

 

1982.

Milk = 20p

Bread = 37p

Eggs = 73p

1st class stamp = 15 and a half pence

Manunited season tkt = £64.00
