Forgotten Gem of The 80′s #3

  • Sharebar

For our third entry into  the forgotten Gem series we remember the 1988 single release Rush Hour by Jane Wiedlin.

An upbeat tune that reached number 12 in The U.K. charts, a version of the song was used by a certain Chris Tarrant on his Capital Radio Breakfast Show.

Together with Belinda Carlise, Wiedlin formed The Go-Go’s in 1978 but left in 1984 to pursue a solo career. As an actress she played Joan of Arc in Bill and Ted’s Ecellent Adventure.

Wiedlin co wrote Our Lips are sealed with Terry Hall which was released as a single by The Go-Go’s in 1981 and The Fun Boy Three in 1983 and named in The Top 100 Pop Songs of all time by Rolling Stone.
