For the second in our forgotten Gem series we remember The Spirit Of Radio by Canadian trio RUSH. This release was  the first single of the 1980′s as the album Permanent Waves was released at Midnight on 1st January 1980, with The Spirit Of Radio being the first track. The song reached number 13, the Bands highest singles position in the  U.K.

The song is also in The Rock and Roll Hall of fame as one of the 500 songs that shaped Rock and Roll.

If you get a chance to see RUSH on Tour this year, grab the chance. They are without doubt one of The Best Bands in The World. They will be performing, which is considered their best album, Moving Pictures in its entirety.
