From Madonna in Into the Groove to the Flock of Seagulls, it was an iconic decade for hair. Here’s my Top10:
1. Madonna – Into the Groove which spurned so many look-a-likes
2. Phil Oakey – THE look in the clubs
3. Annie Lennox – the original ‘sister’. In orange in Touch
4. Brian May – the same since time began I know!
5. Flock of Seagulls – just plain mad!
6. Billy Idol – always wanted to but I never had the courage
7. Gary Numan – when black was in. What do you mean it never went out?
8. Springsteen – well, not the hair but the bandanna
9. Adam Ant – complete with kiss-curl
10. Midge Ure – suaveness personified
