Def Leppard and Heart Florida review

  • Sharebar

To set the scene… the date is June 19th on a sweltering night at the Ford Ampitheater in Tampa Florida:

Support act Heart were not too bad however all the rockers we know and love are now being done as semi-accoustic numbers which, while still good, was a little disappointing.

But then it was the turn of the steel town boys… Def Lepard. 30 years in the business and rock’s “unluckiest band” are still a very good and tight unit, Joe Elliot’s voice can’t hit the peaks on various songs from Pyromania and Hysteria (but in fairness I suspect that Lep hit the big leagues despite rather than because of Joe’s ability to hit the high notes!). That little gripe aside this was to all intents and purposes a “greatest hits” concert and the boys delivered in spades in a great venue
