Andy Taylor celebrates 50 Years on Planet Earth

Born in Cullercoats, Tyne and Wear on February 16th 1961, Andrew Taylor attended Marden High School and started to play the guitar aged 11.

In April 1980, Taylor made what he decribed as a ” fateful Train journey dowm to Birmingham.” 

Duran Duran made their name at the Rummrunner club in Birningham which was adopted by The New Romantic movement, the Band signed for EMI in December 1980 and releasd their debut album, Duran Duran, in June 1981.

As well as being a Guitarist, Andy is an accomplished songwriter and has been a record producer for amongst others Rod Stewart,  Belinda Carlisle, Robert Palmer and Then Jerico.

We wish Andy a Very Happy 50th Birthday.

    I believe he now lives on the island of Ibiza too. I was lucky to see him in Concert with Duran Duran in 2004 and 2005, he leapt about the stage like he was still in his early 20s.
