This was my first ever Rewind Festival and I’m hooked! What a weekend! Four of us went down from Newcastle & it was worth the 7 hour drive (traffic on M25)! There was a very friendly vibe all weekend and we made lots of festival friends. People had made a major effort on the fancy dress front – the person in the Mr Stay Puffed Marshmallow outfit and all those in boiling hot Adam Ant costumes – you deserve medals!! The weather was hot hot hot and so were the bands. My particular favourites were Jimmy Sommerville – such a cool dude! Adam Ant – still a cheeky fellow & his band were fabuloso! Marc Almond – my 80s hero; it’s only taken me 30 years to get to see him! He exceeded expectations with his energetic performance & really worked the crowd. The rendition of Bedsitter was amazing and he looked to be enjoying it all as much as we were. Then OMG – OMD were absolutely fantastic as a headline act on the Sunday – I will definitely be looking out for future gigs. Andy McCluskey – you may be 53 but you rock matey & you’ve definitely still got it!! I can’t wait to see the line-up for next year; this festival is a must for any 80s fan!
