The choice of Name means they will always be listed last in any Music Catalogue or Book of Bands.
The rumour was that the name derived from two cigarette rolling papers, Zig Zag and TOP. It was later published that member Billy Gibbons got the name from a row of posters which coulkd be seen from his Apartment.
The only member of the Band without a beard , has the surname Beard. (Frank Beard)
