Theres one film i"ve just remembered that was really funny at the time, "Party Party", the new years eve party where the parents were out, and the lads had organised a really big house party, and one guy wore aftershave that apparently smelt pretty awful.

Loved 'Party Party' as it was an Abigail's party type film for angst ridden, girl-repellant spotty teenagers much like me. I bought the VHS tape when it finally came out as I'd never seen it on TV and this was much later in the 90s.
One of the funniest moments in the film went a bit like this: the two idiots of the film who were always trying to impress the 'chicks' were in a car with the cool bloke and the idiot in the front tried to impress the cool bloke driving the car by saying 'Yeah! I like to be a fast driver in life, myself' and his even dumber mate in the back seat added 'Yeah… yeah… and I'm going to be a fast passenger'…
Later on in the movie the smaller and more pitiful one of the two idiots then tries to impress a girl at the party by taking the top off a beer bottle with his teeth… only then to spit out two teeth and a load of blood!
All very jolly stuff!

A good list and Cocktail deserves a mention but what about American Gigolo? I started 1980 wearing my Star Trek shirt like Gary Numan and ended the year wearing box suits, pastel colour shirts and thin leather strip ties a la Gere in Gigolo. An iconic movie of its time!!
