I was lucky enough to own a TR7, lovely looking car but what a nightmare. Forever breaking down, when one of the pop up headlights gave up that was the last straw.
Then owned a 3 Litre S Capri aahhh those boy racer days, could do a service on my own outside my parent's garage.

A lot of people i knew back in the 80S had Capri"s and the Ford Cortina MarkIII as well. I remember my brother had a black XR3 and a White RS Turbo, and right at the beginning of the 80s he had an old Alllegro.

TR7? What were you thinking??? Seriously although not a bad design the reliability of BL products was poor to put things mildly… says me who owned a similar piece of automotive reliability Fiat's X1/9 – mind you I say "a"… I actually owned 3 of the things.
Other 80s specials?
Opel Manta
5 IROC Camaros (80's Yank)
<sigh> Nostalgia

I also owned an X/19, for a matter of days that is ….the legs just would't fit in. Infact the MKIII Spitfire I had was great, leaky roof, the smallest petrol tank in the world and a good old bone shaker….
That's Nostalgia
