I remember you couldnt walk through town with out seeing groups of mods, skinheads or punks, which were all a big part of the early 1980s, all huddled in there own little corners. Although the mods all seemed to congregate outside of woolworth at the time. I have to admit i went through a phase with my friends of being a modette, and wearing a green Parka, and walking through town with the "Jam" blaring out of my radio cassette as loud as possible. On Bank Holiday Mondays , You would see on the news where the mods , punks and skinheads had headed to places such a Brighton and margate , where there would be some sort of riot. Not much different from the film Quadraphenia really. Now you hardly see anyone dressed as a mod, skinhead or punk.

I must admit to having a Denim Jacket with lots of patches on it, mostly RUSH who remain my favourite Group of all time….I also had the long hair to go with it.

I also had a green flight jacket, that was covered in badges, mainly from the cover of smash Hits. I wore it everywhere for quite a few years, with really tight denim jeans and burgandy legwarmers tucked into my black tucker boots.
