The venue was heaving with Duran Duran fans, all waiting eagerly for the band to come on stage. Being VIP we had been allowed in slightly earlier, so to get good positions down near the front of the stage. When the band appeared everyone went crazy and the screams were deafening, as they broke into their first song of the night, " A View to a Kill".
They really rocked the Empire, Simon was strutting his stuff across the stage, whilst John teased the audience by coming right to the edge of the stage, Nick and Roger were a little further back and the violinists etc were ushered in and out when needed.
They played 18 songs in total, 6 of them were from the new album, and the others were a mixture of older stuff.
The set list went as follows -
View To a Kill
Being Followed
Is There Something I Should Know
All You Need is Now
Notorious
Safe
Leave a Light ON
Reflex
Ordinary World
Mediterranea
Friends of Mine
Girl Panic
Careless Memories
Sunrise
Rio
Then for the Encore they came back on and played
Come Undone
Runaway/Girls on Film
It was an absolutley awesome show, and i would recommend anyone to go and see Duran Duran in concert, they may be middle aged men now, but they can still belt out them hits.
Now i can't wait to go and see them in Brighton.
